OFF GRID: Primary Power

Is your property located off the electric grid? Have you been told that it will cost tens of thousands of dollars to bring electric power to your property? Plug Power's GenSysTM is the answer to your electric power needs.

The off grid or stand alone unit works by reforming propane gas into hydrogen and then using the hydrogen as fuel. The unit is quiet, odorless, and runs both day and night and in all kinds of weather. You won't have to worry about batteries losing their charge at the moment when you need them the most. At 5kW, the unit is robust enough for almost any property (a 5kW unit can produce up to 120 kWh a day of power!), yet it will only produce as much energy as you need, and with its small foot print, can be linked with additional units to provide even greater levels of power.

PRODUCE ELECTRICITY AND HOT WATER

Besides water, the only by product of the fuel cell technology is heat. The unit produces enough heat to supply most structures with all the domestic hot water they need. You get both electricity and hot water from your system!

Concerned about the environment? If there was a hydrogen leak, hydrogen, being the lightest element on earth, would just evaporate into the atmosphere. No messy or dangerous ground or other pollution to be addressed.

AVAILABLE FOR INSTALLATION IN 2007

The next generation of Plug Power's GenSysTM combined heat and power hydrogen fuel cell systems are going into beta test during the 3rd quarter of 2005. The entire beta production run of 50 units has already been sold. It is anticipated that these units will be certified for sale during 2007 and available for installation late 2007-08.

If you wish to be put on our list to be contacted when this next generation system becomes available, please fill out the form on our Contact Us Page and be sure to indicate that you are intestested in the off grid or stand alone unit.
