LARGE
SCALE INDUSTRIAL & COMMERCIAL:
Waste Water Treatment
Wastewater treatment
plants in various worldwide locations utilize Fuel Cell Energy, Inc. units
to produce power from the anerobic digester gas by-product of their treatment
process. Any type of bio-mass product put into an anerobic digester can
be converted into anerobic digester gas. This gas then becomes free fuel
for the fuel cell. If there is a shortage of bio-mass, the fuel
cell can operate on a mixture of digester gas and natural gas.
Available
state rebates can greatly affect the cost of the fuel cells. For example:
The State of California offers two levels of rebates for fuel cells. If
the fuel cell operates off of natural gas alone, the rebate is $2.50 a
watt. On the other hand, if the fuel cell runs off of totally green renewable
bio-mass gas, the rebate is $4.50 a watt. The $4.50 a watt rebate makes
the unit practically free and with free anerobic digester gas, the result
is 300kW or more of free, reliable, quiet, pollution-free electricity.
