Modules
A solar installation utilizes solar modules, one or more electrical inverters,
and racking. There are several different types of solar modules available
for installation today, but most are primarily comprised of either mono
or poly crystalline. Crystalline modules
consist of individual solar cells in alumninum frames, with a tempered
glass front, and an EVA laminate backing. These moduels range in size
from 50-watts to 300-watts. All come with either a 20 to 25-year warranty
and are backed by large stable corporations.
Crystalline
solar modules are manufactured by companies such as SunPower, Sanyo Electric,
Mitsubishi Electric, Sharp Solar, Kyocera Solar, GE Solar, Shell Solar,
and BP Solar. Silverwood Energy, Inc. sells all brands of modules. Unless
you have a particular module in mind, we will choose the optimal brand
and size module that best suits your system's requirements and that will
provide the best production for the least cost without any aesthetic concerns.
Crystalline modules work well for both residential and commercial applications.
If roof space is a potential concern, crystalline modules are the most
efficient modules on the market today and give you the most solar production
for the least amount of required roof space. They are extremely durable
and resiliant and work well in almost any weather condition.
Inverters
Along with the solar modules, your solar installation requires one or
more electrical inverters. The inverter changes DC power to AC power.
As
with solar modules, there are many different inverter manufacturers
with inverters available in numerous shapes and sizes. Most residential
inverters range in size from 1800 watts to 7000 watts, while commercial
inverters can range from 30 kW to 500 kW. SunPower, SMA, Fronius, Xantrex,
Sharp, and SatCon are some of the main inverter manufacturers.
Some inverters release their heat through convection, while others have
a built in fan. Both designs have their pros and cons. Depending on the
type of installation, brand of module used, and location of the project,
Silverwood Energy, Inc. will design your solar energy system to use the
inverter that performs best for your installation.
Silverwood
Energy, Inc. only sells and installs inverters that come with a standard
10-year warranty.
Racking
Silverwood Energy, Inc. uses only the best
materials to mount solar modules. Our installations utilize either UniStrut,
UniRac, or ProSolar racking depending on the type of installation. We
also specalize in non-penetration roof systems such as the Powerlight
PowerTilt and PowerGuard.
If you are looking for a solar canopy or
carport, Silverwood Energy, Inc. can help custom design a system for your
project based on the dimensions of the area you are looking to cover.
Silverwood
Energy, Inc. does not sell prefabricated solar kits. We custom design
each system with attention to several different factors such as aesthetics,
production, and cost. Call us today and let us design a custom system
for your home or business.
